What do I need to pay attention when I collect mouse tissue samples?
You should make sure genomic DNA is not degraded and there is no cross contamination of different samples. Tissue samples should be put on ice at the time of collection and stored at -20 degree before shipping. After collection of one sample, collection tools should be thoroughly cleaned before they are used for next sample.
How do I ship samples to you if I am from outside of North Carolina?
You can ship your samples in Eppendorf tubes with 70% ethanol at room temperature.
Do I need to provide PCR primers and reaction conditions?
You have to provide primer stocks to us. PCR conditions are helpful but not required.
Do you use standard PCR or real time PCR for genotyping?
We use standard PCR for genotyping. We will include original gel image of PCR product in our report for you to double check the result.
Is there any sample submission form we need to fill out before shipping?
We don’t have a standard sample submission form. You simply email us a spreadsheet describing your sample ID and gene name to be genotyped.
How do I get my result?
We will email you the genotyping report when it is ready.
